021 (ADB977034 and ADB977305) dumped at Eastleigh, awaiting a tow to the scrapman. Does anyone know why this unit had chevrons on the cab front?

From Hellfiregrowler at 2008-03-23 17:50:28 : Don't know why there's chevrons on the front, but am I correct in thinking that the unit in question is an ex South Tyneside Electric?
From rob at 2008-03-25 05:36:16 : unit021 was used to shunt stock over the wheel lathe at East Wimbledon EMU Depot and had warning yellow applied around to the side drivers doors and wasp ends in true "shunter" style!
From Railway Image Galleries at 2008-03-27 16:42:41 : To answer Hellfiregrowler, the set does indeed appear to be formed from a pair of ex-Tyneside DMBS'. The size of the headcode box gives it away - they were smaller on the ex-Tyneside units, than on the native sets.
